This disclaimer supplements, and does not replace, the Legasus Master Subscription Agreement, AI Acceptable Use Policy, Product-Specific Terms, or applicable professional obligations.
Legasus provides technology that can assist legal professionals with case management, intake, research, drafting, analysis, communication, workflow automation, simulations, calculations, and related tasks. Artificial intelligence and automation can increase efficiency, but they also have important limitations.
1. Legasus Is Not a Law Firm
AIDAN LLC d/b/a Legasus is a technology provider, not a law firm.
Legasus does not provide legal representation or legal advice. Use of Legasus does not create an attorney-client relationship between Legasus and any Customer, Authorized User, Client User, prospective client, or other person.
A law firm's use of Legasus does not make Legasus responsible for the firm's legal advice, professional judgment, representation, strategy, filing, supervision, deadlines, conflicts, client communications, or outcomes.
2. AI Output May Be Wrong
AI-generated and automated output can be:
- inaccurate;
- incomplete;
- misleading;
- inconsistent;
- outdated;
- biased;
- unsupported;
- based on incomplete context;
- inappropriate for a jurisdiction;
- inappropriate for a particular client or matter; or
- entirely fabricated in part.
Generative AI can produce plausible-sounding information that is false. Similar prompts can produce different answers. A high-confidence tone, citation, score, or recommendation does not establish accuracy.
3. Human Review Is Required
Customers and qualified professionals must independently review material output before it is:
- relied upon;
- filed with a court or agency;
- signed;
- sent to a client;
- sent to opposing counsel;
- sent to an insurer, healthcare provider, expert, witness, government agency, or other third party;
- used to advise a client;
- used to calculate or recommend a settlement;
- used to make a legal or similarly significant decision; or
- used to initiate a material or irreversible action.
Legasus does not replace professional judgment.
4. Legal Research and Citations
Legasus may provide cases, statutes, regulations, quotations, citations, links, research summaries, or information drawn from third-party legal research services.
Users must independently verify, through authoritative sources and appropriate citator/research tools where applicable, that:
- the cited authority exists;
- the citation is correct;
- quoted language is accurate and in context;
- the authority remains good law;
- the authority applies in the relevant jurisdiction;
- the authority supports the proposition stated;
- the procedural posture is correctly understood; and
- no later authority changes the analysis.
A citation produced by Legasus is not a representation that Legasus has Shepardized, KeyCited, or otherwise independently validated the authority unless a specific feature expressly states the exact validation performed.
Third-party legal databases, including services licensed through Legasus, may have separate terms and limitations.
5. Drafts, Pleadings, Discovery, and Client Communications
AI-generated drafts are starting points. Attorneys and other qualified professionals remain responsible for factual accuracy, legal sufficiency, tone, privilege, confidentiality, applicable rules, signatures, certifications, representations to tribunals, and final content.
Legasus does not guarantee that a generated pleading, motion, discovery response, demand, contract, letter, email, or other document satisfies the requirements of a particular court, jurisdiction, judge, agency, client, or matter.
6. Deadlines and Calendaring
Dates and deadlines generated, extracted, summarized, inferred, or calculated by AI or automation must be independently verified against authoritative sources, rules, orders, agreements, docket information, and the facts of the matter.
Legasus does not guarantee that an automatically generated or extracted deadline accounts for all triggering events, service rules, holidays, local rules, extensions, tolling rules, or jurisdiction-specific requirements.
7. Intake Scoring
Legasus intake scoring is intended to help a firm compare an inquiry with the firm's selected preferences, experience, practice focus, capacity, or other configured criteria.
Intake scores:
- do not determine whether a claim is legally valid;
- do not create an attorney-client relationship;
- do not accept or reject representation;
- do not determine that a particular law firm is the best or only representation for an individual;
- should not be the sole basis for a legally significant decision; and
- remain subject to human professional review.
A score may help a firm identify matters that appear more closely aligned with its experience while recognizing that another firm may sometimes be better positioned for a particular matter.
8. Mock Trial, Jury, Judge, Opposing Counsel, and Litigation Simulations
Any AI-generated simulation of a judge, juror, jury, opposing counsel, witness, mediator, adjuster, expert, panel, or other litigation participant is hypothetical.
A simulation:
- is not the view of the actual person or tribunal;
- does not predict how a real judge, jury, witness, lawyer, insurer, mediator, or decision-maker will behave;
- cannot reproduce all facts, evidence, credibility judgments, local practices, human behavior, or courtroom dynamics; and
- does not guarantee a legal or settlement outcome.
Simulations should be used as strategy and preparation tools, not predictions.
9. Settlement, Damages, Liens, Fees, and Financial Calculations
Legasus may calculate or estimate values relating to:
- damages;
- medical expenses;
- liens;
- fees;
- costs;
- interest;
- projected recovery;
- settlement ranges;
- case valuation;
- distributions; or
- other financial information.
These outputs may depend on incomplete or incorrect inputs, assumptions, law, formulas, third-party records, or data extraction. Users must independently verify all calculations before relying on them or communicating them externally.
Legasus does not provide investment, tax, accounting, financial-planning, or insurance advice.
10. Medical and Healthcare Information
Legasus may process medical records, treatment information, bills, provider information, or other health-related data for Customers that are authorized to use the applicable Service.
Legasus does not provide:
- healthcare;
- diagnosis;
- treatment recommendations;
- medical advice;
- clinical decision support;
- medical-necessity determinations;
- utilization review; or
- insurance coverage advice.
Any AI-generated summary or extraction of medical information must be verified against source records and, where appropriate, by qualified professionals.
11. Voice AI, Recording, and Transcription
Voice AI, call recording, meeting recording, and transcription may contain errors and may be subject to consent, privacy, wiretap, biometric, labor, professional, or other laws.
Customer is responsible for determining whether notice or consent is required and for providing/obtaining it. Legasus does not determine whether recording is lawful in a particular jurisdiction or circumstance.
Transcripts must be reviewed before they are treated as an accurate record.
12. AI Agents and Automated Actions
AI agents may be able to propose or initiate actions such as sending communications, creating calendar entries, changing matter information, preparing documents, contacting leads, or initiating e-signature workflows.
By default, material actions are intended to remain subject to Customer-configured review/approval controls where provided.
If Customer requests a configuration that bypasses or reduces default human approval, Customer acknowledges that:
- the functionality is experimental;
- Legasus does not recommend using it for material legal or irreversible actions without meaningful supervision;
- Customer assumes responsibility for the configuration and resulting actions;
- automation does not remove professional duties or legal requirements; and
- Legasus may disable the configuration for security, compliance, or risk reasons.
13. Ethical Walls, Conflicts, Legal Holds, and Retention
Legasus may provide tools for permissions, ethical walls, conflicts workflows, retention, preservation, or legal holds. These tools assist Customer but do not determine Customer's legal or ethical obligations.
Customer is responsible for designing, reviewing, and maintaining configurations appropriate to its organization, matters, jurisdictions, professional rules, and legal obligations.
14. Client Portal
Client-facing access is controlled by the law firm or Customer that sends the invitation. Customer is responsible for deciding what a Client User may access and for confirming that disclosure is appropriate.
Client Users should contact the applicable law firm, not Legasus, regarding legal advice or substantive matter questions.
15. Third-Party Services and Licensed Content
Some results may depend on third-party services, websites, AI providers, legal databases, e-signature services, email/calendar providers, voice providers, or other systems.
Legasus cannot guarantee that third-party information is complete, current, accurate, uninterrupted, or permanently available. Third-party terms may apply.
16. No Guarantee of Outcome
Legasus does not guarantee:
- a case outcome;
- settlement amount;
- verdict;
- judgment;
- intake conversion;
- client acquisition;
- court acceptance;
- legal research result;
- business result;
- regulatory result; or
- any other professional outcome.
17. Responsibility for Use
The Customer and its professionals are responsible for deciding whether and how to use Legasus and its output. The existence of safeguards, warnings, scores, citations, review buttons, or approval controls does not shift the professional's underlying responsibility to Legasus.
